The most valuable cookie in the world

This item was a survivor of the sinking of the Titanic, which killed more than 1500 people in 1912, and sold for 15,000 euros in England. A collector in Greece bought the simple cracker from auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son at the Devizes auction in Wiltshire. According to the story told by experts on the subject, the cracker was part of the survival kit of one of the vessel’s lifeboats and was kept by passenger James Fenwick as a ‘souvenir’ of the disaster. He placed the cracker in a photographic envelope and on it wrote the note, “Pilot Biscuit from Titanic Lifeboat, April 1912”.
