In this series on wheat we will also talk about the benefits of this food for humans.

Carbohydrates, proteins, fat, fiber, calcium, iron, folic acid. All these substances are present in wheat flour, one of the main sources of calories for humanity. It provides about 20% of the calories from food consumed by man, it has a protein – gluten – not found in other grains, which makes wheat an indispensable component of many foods. Through its derivatives such as white and whole wheat flour, different types of bread, pasta, noodles, cappelletti and ravioli, cakes, sfihas, dough (for pies, turnovers, pastries), pancakes, pizzas and others that are on our tables every day, right?
